Christina Sanders, CPA

Christina Sanders serves as the Director of Healthcare Services at DMJPS CPAs + Advisors. Bringing nearly 20 years of accounting and tax experience to healthcare organizations across the region. She works closely with medical groups of all sizes—from large multi-specialty national organizations to independent physician practices—helping them strengthen operational efficiency, improve financial stability, and support long-term organizational goals.

Christina specializes in tax compliance and planning, outsourced accounting services, and financial consulting. She assists clients with challenges such as optimizing accounting operations, implementing provider compensation models, navigating regulatory requirements, and improving financial reporting. Her work focuses on creating strategies that reduce inefficiencies, support growth, and promote financial security.

Her path into healthcare finance began early. Christina initially planned to attend medical school but discovered that accounting was a better fit—numbers came naturally, and the discipline aligned with her analytical strengths. Still committed to healthcare, she shifted her focus to the financial side of the industry, where she could combine her skills with her passion for supporting organizations that deliver patient care.

Christina’s background spans both public accounting and industry roles. Prior to joining DMJPS, she worked in the physician enterprise group at a former top 10 accounting firm, helping build a nationwide accounting team for hospital-owned and private practices. She also held financial management roles within a large health system in Western North Carolina, gaining hands-on experience with the operational and regulatory complexities healthcare organizations face.

She holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Wake Forest University and is an active member of the AICPA, NCACPA, and the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants, where she has also served in leadership roles.

Outside of work, Christina enjoys all things Disney, spending time with her two children, and diving into books by her favorite author, Elin Hilderbrand
