Mason Barringer, CPA, CFE

Mason Barringer, CPA, CFE, is a Partner at DMJPS CPAs + Advisors. In 2024, he was appointed to the role of Director of Assurance Services, overseeing the firm’s assurance practice statewide. Mason brings over a decade of hands-on experience and leadership to a broad range of audit and attestation engagements, including audits, reviews, agreed-upon procedures, and examination engagements. His technical knowledge combined with his strategic insight helps clients navigate evolving reporting requirements while strengthening financial transparency.

Mason specializes in fraud detection and prevention, internal control evaluation, and litigation support. He serves clients across diverse industries such as nonprofit organizations, real estate, manufacturing and distribution, construction, and local governmental entities. His well- rounded experience and proactive approach allows him to deliver not only compliance, but also strategic value to privately held businesses, organizations, and nonprofit entities.

A Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and licensed CPA, Mason is actively involved in the profession. He previously served on the NCACPA’s Young CPA Cabinet and is a current member of the association’s investment committee, helping guide the financial organization’s stewardship.

Mason holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His professional journey is especially notable as he is one of only two partners at DMJPS to have risen through the ranks from DMJPS accounting intern to partner. His trajectory reflects his deep commitment, adaptability, and focus.

Recognized for his steady leadership and approachable demeanor, Mason is a trusted advisor to clients, and a dedicated mentor for young professionals both within the firm and across the accounting industry. His consistent ability to provide insight, guidance, and results makes him an invaluable asset.

Mason lives in Greensboro, North Carolina, with his wife, two daughters, and their two dogs. Outside of work, he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, kayaking, fishing, and the occasional tennis or pickleball match.
