Michael Waddell,

Michael Waddell is a Fractional CFO at DMJPS CPAs + Advisors in the Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) department. With more than 30 years of experience in accounting and finance, he provides strategic financial leadership and supports clients with in-depth financial analysis, accounting solutions, and advisory services. Michael has worked across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, commercial construction, aviation, and agriculture.

Michael brings a well-rounded background in corporate accounting, public accounting, and corporate banking. He began his career in banking after earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Wofford College. He later earned his MBA from Wake Forest University and went on to serve as a controller, CFO, and general manager for several manufacturing companies before transitioning to public accounting. His passion lies in financial strategy, whether analyzing performance, forecasting cash flow, evaluating pricing and new products, planning for expansion or acquisition, or advising on ownership transitions and exit strategies.

Originally from Woodruff, South Carolina, where he grew up on a small family farm, Michael now works in the firm’s Monroe office. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, disc golf, and international travel. With adult children, he and his wife aim to visit a new country each year—most recently exploring southern Spain, Portugal, and France.
