Charlie has served as a trusted advisor to individuals and businesses across Lee County, known for his steady guidance and genuine care for the people. His career represents the very best of what DMJPS stands for—leadership, integrity, community, and a deep commitment to exceptional client service.
In 1990, Charlie and his family relocated from Greensboro to lead the acquisition and integration of what would become the firm’s Sanford office, the first expansion beyond Greensboro headquarters. With deep tax expertise, an unwavering commitment to client service, and a people-first leadership style, Charlie shaped the trusted reputation the Sanford office enjoys today. Charlie’s long-standing involvement, advocacy, and presence in the community have made him a fixture in the community’s civic and business landscape.
Beyond his professional contributions, Charlie is deeply engaged in Sanford and Lee County civic and business organizations, where he has provided leadership, advocacy, and support for community development initiatives across the region. He is a Leadership North Carolina graduate and alumnus, serves on the Board of Directors of the Lee County Education Foundation, and previously served as Treasurer of the Sanford Area Growth Alliance (SAGA) Board of Directors, among other roles.

Charlie’s public accounting career spans more than four decades, during which he has built deep expertise in individual and business taxation, estate, trust, and gift tax planning, business advisory services, and family-owned business consulting. He is dedicated to community-focused client service, consistently prioritizing long-term relationships and personalized guidance.
He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the North Carolina Association of CPAs (NCACPA), maintaining a longstanding involvement in professional development and industry standards.
A Message of Gratitude
In recognition of Charlie’s extraordinary career and his deep commitment to the Sanford community, DMJPS will be making a special firm donation in his honor to Lee County Education Foundation. Since its inception, the foundation has invested more than $2.5 million in a variety of Lee County Schools’ initiatives to serve teachers and students from Pre-K to grade 12, supporting reading, math, social studies, and science classrooms, College prep, and career education.
