Investing in the Future of Accounting
DMJPS PLLC (DMJPS), a U.S. Top 200 tax, assurance, and advisory firm is proud to announce the first recipients of its newly established “Be Greater Scholarship.” Launched in August 2024 to commemorate the firm’s 75th anniversary, the initiative represents a $75,000 investment over five years to support the next generation of accounting professionals.
The inaugural class represents students from accounting programs at UNC Wilmington, UNC Asheville, UNC Greensboro, East Carolina University, and Campbell University.
To qualify, recipients must major in accounting and successfully complete a busy season internship with DMJPS. As part of the application process, students were asked to reflect on the firm’s guiding principle, “Be Greater” and share what it means to them personally and professionally.
“The culture encourages you to “Be Greater” in everything you do. It isn’t just a motto —it’s something you feel in the way people work and support each other,” said a DMJPS Scholarship recipient from East Carolina University who interned in the firm’s Durham, NC office. “It’s not just a firm. It’s a place where people care about doing great work and helping others grow. I’m grateful for the experience and excited to carry what I’ve learned into the next chapter of my journey.
“My biggest takeaway wasn’t technical. It was learning what it means to Be Greater. At DMJPS, I wasn’t just an intern, I was a valued part of the team. I felt that my contributions mattered, even at this early stage in my career. I saw firsthand how my work played a role in the bigger picture, and that realization was empowering,” said a University of North Carolina at Greensboro student.
The Be Greater Scholarship reinforces DMJPS’ commitment to addressing the accounting profession’s talent pipeline by investing directly in students through its expansive campus recruitment program, which currently includes over 15 colleges and universities statewide.
