On February 28, North Carolina CPA and advisory firm, DMJPS PLLC, made a statewide impact at three North Carolina locations during the annual Special Olympics Polar Plunge, raising more than $20,000 and earning the “Most Money Raised by a Group” trophy—just one week after the firm’s coastal team kicked off participation in Wilmington.

With ten offices across North Carolina, DMJPS PLLC is deeply rooted in the communities it serves. Through more than twenty-five years of participation and partnership, the firm has contributed more than $255,000 to Special Olympics North Carolina.

DMJPS expanded its participation beyond its longstanding involvement in Greensboro (Triad Chill) and Kure Beach to also include the Lee County Splash & Dash in Sanford and the Buncombe County Polar Plunge in Asheville. By increasing its presence to four plunge locations from the mountains to the coast, DMJPS demonstrated its continued commitment to supporting the more than 55,000 Special Olympics athletes and expanding its fundraising impact across the state.

The 2026 DMJPS “Polar Plungers” team included professionals representing seven departments and six office locations: Miranda Arrington, Noah Brabble, David Mize, and Katelyn Palau of Greensboro; Jennifer Billstrom, Stephanie Emerson, Christina Sanders, Kassia Tuura, and Justin White of Asheville; Drew Steel of Durham; Adora Mackey of Monroe; Kathie Clark, Drew Haddock, and Dirk Kuenzler of Sanford; and Priscilla Avilez, Adam Bernhard, Dana Carter, Keitlyne Huerta, Levi Jost, Angel Pia, Ty Richard, Kierra Smith, Samantha Suozzi, Mallorie Tart, and Czarina Varias of Wilmington. Family members and friends also joined the team in support of the cause.

Caren Rodriguez, Chief Marketing Officer at DMJPS, presented the firm’s contribution to Special Olympics North Carolina. “Special Olympics is an organization close to our hearts. Supporting this mission is deeply personal to our team. We’re proud to expand our participation this year and continue championing these incredible athletes. We are grateful to our colleagues, clients, and community members who helped make this year’s efforts such a success.”
